Our professional trainers carefully select our dogs
by evaluating them for temperament, health and
eagerness to please. They are rescued from shelters
where they are at risk for euthanasia. They enter a
rigorous training program to become Hearing Dogs for
people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Not all of our outstanding dogs can meet the demands
of becoming a Certified Assistance Dog, thus the
need for a "Career Change". They are, however, still
winners, and make wonderful pets. Many are already
housebroken and some know basic obedience commands.
In short, these "near misses" make wonderful
companions. We can help match you with a lifelong

Pink is a 1 year old terrier mix and weighs about 30 lbs. She loves to play with other dogs and although she is initially a bit shy with people she has never met, she enjoys affection and is quite sweet. She would do best in a home with another small confident, playful dog and with a couple or single person who has retired from work or working from home. She enjoys car rides and regular outings which currently include a 3 mile walk several times a week.
Nutmeg is a silver beige toy poodle. She is approximately 10 months and weighs around 10 lbs but should probably be closer to 12 lbs when fully grown. She is so sweet--loves being in your lap—but is full of energy and loves to run around being playful. She needs a poodle loving owner who will continue her socialization—meeting new people and visiting new places. She came to us recently from one of the Los Angeles county shelters walking with a front leg limp from a healed bone break that happened at some point during her puppyhood. She has no issue from the old break—the leg is just a bit shorter than her other front leg because of how it was allowed to heal. She will probably always have the limp but she does not let that stop her from being like any other toy poodle.
Peanut is a 20 lb. pug/chihuahua X, although many people believe he is a small “puggle” (pug/beagle X). He has received many months of training to be a Hearing Dog for someone deaf and hard of hearing. He lacks the confidence needed to be an Assistance Dog in places such as the mall, restaurants, etc and can be shy with people he does not know until he has a chance to get to know them. He is crate trained but has good house manners. He is playful and outgoing and will make a family a wonderful companion.
