What is a Career Change Dog?
Our professional trainers carefully select our dogs by testing them for personality, health, and
intelligence. They are rescued from shelters, where they awaited execution. The enter a rigorous training program to become Hearing Dogs for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Not all of our outstanding dogs can meet the demands of becoming a Certified Assistance Dog, thus the need for a "Career Change". They are, however, still winners, and make wonderful pets. Many are already housebroken and some know basic obedience commands. In short, these "near misses" make wonderful companions.

Mocha
ShihTzu Size: Small Age: 1 1/2 yr Sex: female Mocha is very sweet and playful and enjoys being a housedog with all the comforts! She did not have any experience with other dogs except for the Shih Tzu that was with her at the shelter. She gets a little scared with new dogs and will bark at them. Beagle Mix Size: med/large Age: 1 1/2 years Sex: Spayed Female Lacey is sweet and fun-loving, though she can be a little shy. She loves to play with other dogs and would do best with a playmate her size or larger. Lacey is a born jumper and no baby gate or fence will keep her from being right next to her people! She loves to spend all her time free in the house or playing ball. Even though Lacey has very nice house manners, her new family would benefit from taking a basic obedience class. Poodle mix Size: Small Age: 8 years young! Sex: Spayed Female Muffin is a sweet, affectionate and easy dog to care for. Don't let her age fool you, she is spunky and playful with many years of love to give a lucky family! She visits residents of assisted living homes regularly and they adore her. Terrier/corgi x Size: Small Age: 4 year old Sex: Neutered Male Gizmo weighs about 12 lbs. He was found abandoned by his owner and left out to wander near a freeway. He suffers from chronic allergies which are managed well with medication. He is very affectionate and sweet with people he knows and trusts but needs to warm up to new people.
